Is your team's greatness being curbed by your agile "best practices"?

Yikes!

We've invited Woody Zuill to tell us about his work at this month's Agile Cocktail. Now, Woody's ideas tend to make people itch. Ideas like #noestimates or #mobprogramming. But he's not dumping time-tested recipes just to be contrary! These new ideas surface when he's daring to do what's needed to make his teams Really Great. And agile. Read on for details.

But what makes Coaching Cocktails really rock is:
the great people who show up!

We love these calls. We’re not hosting a series of webinars - we're creating space for passionate people to meet, especially since we’re far apart.

But we know it can be hard to fit them into your work day. So, this is Deb, reminding you to a) put it on your calendar and also b) register to get updates and call details as the day approaches.

Questioning Agile

Woody's a coach and developer whose ideas make people itch. But maybe "itchy" is good?

In this late-adopter phase of Agile software development, it's especially important for us to teach and model the spirit of Agile; for example: the Manifesto's 12th principle: "... the team reflects on how to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts its behavior accordingly."

But, are even our trusty basics open to "adjustment"?

Woody will join our Zoom call to share his approach to helping teams grow practices that really fit and enhance their work - no matter how weird - in line with the spirit of Agile.

Afterwards, I'll lead a discussion of your own topics and questions in a LeanCoffee™ format, as usual. Steve's on the road in November, so it'll be you, me, and Woody, and the other "right people" who join us.  It's always valuable because you set the topics!

(hmm, what is Lagniappe?)Do you know someone wrestling orthodoxy vs. innovation in Agile? Then let them know about this meetup.

Until we meet again, be good to yourself!

Remember to breathe deeply, enjoy nice drinks, and do good things for you! Shifting culture begins with who you are... and be certain, folks will get curious when you are the most joyful person in the room!

Happy Culture Shifting!
