Marty's Message

As CPS faculty/staff, it is important to know our rich history. Which is why it was so nice to see many of our current faculty/staff attended the opening of the Joan North Place. It was satisfying to watch students, current faculty/staff, retired faculty/staff and community members mingle and reflect on the college’s past and our future.

Joan North had many accomplishments in her role as dean of CPS. Perhaps her greatest was the impact she had on our college culture.

She believed in instilling a sense of optimism, problem solving, and entrepreneurship and she coined the phrase “Proactive, Resourceful, Connected, Caring” as a way to describe this culture.

I am proud to say that this is a culture each of us try to live up to everyday.

Marty Loy,
Dean
