Welcome to Winter

The weather has cooled right down, and most of our gardens are tucked in for the winter. We're settling into the new rhythm the autumn and winter brings, back at our desks wrapping up this season and dreaming about the next. A huge thank you to everyone that made this another spectacular season!

October marked the end of our season with Farmer Kim. She joined the Farm team in late June and made a huge impact in her four months with the EGP. Kim's background in farming was a huge asset - she was able to hit the ground running in peak farming season and make quick connections with farm interns, volunteers and market customers alike. She had great ideas and tons of creativity - you may have marvelled at her floral creations at our weekly farm gate sales! On behalf of Farmer Holly and the entire EGP team, THANK YOU Kim for a wonderful season on the farm.

A Huge Thank You to Our Farm Intern Team

The EGP Volunteer Farm Internship program wrapped up another year at the end of October! After a pumpkin carving party and a potluck lunch, we bid a fond farewell to our amazing intern team who have been working with us since April: Ali, Cheyenne, Erian, Linda and Shauna.

The interns contributed a total of 1315 hours of volunteer support at the farms this year - seeding, weeding, harvesting, marketing and everything in between. These interns made a huge contribution during their educational experience at the EGP social enterprise farms!

We couldn't do what we do without them. We wish them all the best in their future farming endeavours!
