Winner of 9 Simorgh Awards at the 34th Fajr International Film Festival
Life and a Day, the debut feature from 26-year-old Saeed Roostaie, is about a struggling family from South Tehran as they prepare to send their beloved daughter and sister, the glue in the family, to Afghanistan for an arranged marriage. The film won the Audience award at Fajr and nine further awards, including best director, best script, best actress (Parinaz Izadyar), and best supporting actor (Navid Mohammadzadeh).
