Marin Senior Information Fair

Did you go to the Marin Senior Fair? We donned our Madhatter attire and saw many students and clients at our booth. Thanks to Alyssa & Zack of Microsoft for co-hosting the booth. We gave away a lot of swag and held several workshops showing the latest gear, games and gadgets. In fact, we even won Best Presentation of Information at the Fair. Congratulations to Barbara H. who won the raffle prize of JBL Headphones. See you next year at the Fair!

What's New in APPLE Phones and Tablets

iOS 10With the release of the iPhone 7/7+ in september came the upgrade to the phone software (iOS 10). Apple has now released several updates (currently on 10.1.1) and is encouraging everyone who can to upgrade. We've been testing it for several weeks now and it has been very stable.

Should I upgrade to iOS 10?

In general, you will want to upgrade to iOS 10 if your phone or ipad supports it. Eventually developers will stop supporting the older version. So you'll have to upgrade. We are starting to include iOS 10 features in our classes and have two special classes just focusing on what is new. Read our ONLINE GUIDE for instructions on how to upgrade to iOS 10.

What's New in iOS 10?
There are a lot of new features. Here are some highlights:
  • Raise to Wake. Pick up your phone and you can see the time and any notifications.Swipe left to start the Camera. Swipe Right to see a customizable widget view.
  • No more slide to unlock! Just hit the home button twice and then enter your passcode.
  • Messages enhanced with stickers, animations, photo markup and more!
  • Photos now has automatically created "Memories" highlighting photos taken in the same time/place. Also, you can now search on the faces and content of your photos.

Read our online guide and come to our "What's New in iOS 10" class to get hands-on practice with these and many other new enhancements.  We will also show you how to disable some of the new "helpful" changes if you choose.
