DEFOOR AVENUE CLOSURE THIS WEEKEND

Department of Watershed Management and the Department of Public Works will perform needed repairs on Defoor Ave NW, Saturday, October 29, 2016 and Sunday, October 30, 2016. The repairs to the 18" storm line and road will take place between Howell Mill Road NW and Springer Street NW, and will require the street to be closed to motorists during the aforementioned dates – signs informing motorists of the street closure and detour route will be in place. Please plan for delays and take alternative routes.

*PLEASE NOTE: We've just heard that the traffic at Howell Mill and Defoor is already very bad this afternoon, so you may want to plan for an alternate route into the neighborhood as you come home today.

Detour for the full-street closure of Defoor Avenue NW:

• Heading south on Defoors Ferry Rd NW, turn right to go west on Collier Rd NW
• Turn left onto Chattahoochee Ave NW
• End detour at Howell Mill RD NW

OR

• Heading south on Defoors Ferry Rd NW, turn left to go east on Collier Rd NW
• Turn right onto Howell Mill Rd NW to go south
• End detour at Defoor Ave NW

OR

• Heading south on Marvin St NW or Springer St NW, turn right on Defoor Ave NW
• Turn left at Defoor Pl NW
• Turn left onto Chattahoochee Ave NW
• End detour at Howell Mill RD NW

Reminder: Halloween Party at the Park

Join the Underwood Hills Play Group this Sunday, October 30th from 4-6PM for some Halloween fun with the family. We’ll have a costume contest for the kids (fur babies included) judged by our Station 23 Fire Fighters, pumpkin painting, food and even some beer for the adults!

Bring a side or snack to share and we'll provide paper goods, beverages, and DAS BBQ will be providing yummy BBQ as we anxiously await their opening!
