Study Suggestions:
Time Management Tips for the Procrastinator. Sometimes students put off assignments because they feel overwhelmed by other classwork, practices, or social obligations. To avoid missing due dates, students should set priorities and goals for all assignments. Be realistic: not everyone has time to study 3 hours each day. However, assignments can be broken into different parts to accomplish a little each day. Completing smaller parts of the whole assignment can make students feel less overwhelmed and help avoid procrastination. Students should plan ahead by adjusting their weekly schedule help manage time and responsibilities.

From the FSC Career Center:
Graduate School Fair! Please encourage your student to join the Career Center staff and graduate school representatives from around of the country on Wednesday November 2nd from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Honeyman Pavilion. Representatives will be there to speak with students about their programs and admissions processes.

What’s next after your student graduates? If they are interested in learning about or considering going to graduate school, they may join us for the Jumpstart Your Future: Graduate School Series. This is a two-part series. Session #2 will focus on the graduate school application process, in particular writing personal statements, taking entrance examinations, and asking for letters of recommendation.
Encourage your student to join us for Session #2 on Wednesday November 2 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm in the Career Center (Rogers Building – 1st Floor).

From the FSC Counseling Center:
I don’t know about you but I love receiving free stuff.  Even when I know I may be paying for it somewhere along the line, the idea of getting something free gives me a kick.  As college students, your sons and daughters have the opportunity of a lifetime:  free counseling by licensed professionals with years of experience helping college students.  Your students have full access to FSC’s Counseling Center for free!   Wow!
Have you ever wondered what prompts students to seek counseling?  Students typically come to us because they’re sad, worried, or uncertain about something, because they’re overly stressed, or because of relational concerns.  Usually, they’ve already talked with family and friends but, because family and friends love them too much to be truly objective, they need someone outside their inner circle to help them resolve matters.  We’re here to be that unbiased listener who can assist them in working through things and getting back to being successful students.  Encourage your student to take advantage of our free services.  It will never be cheaper or easier for students to receive the benefits of counseling than during their college years.
