Greetings dear friend,

Complete peace would be yours if you only say and mean “I want the Peace of God”.  Yet to mean it would initiate a process within yourself; a process both of undoing and of re-discovery, of forgetting and remembering.  The place we meet is in this process, although strictly speaking there is no process, there is only Mind at peace within the heart of God. The obstacles to understanding this perfect peace are present within the conditional nature of the human mind. As Jesus states in the first sentence of Chapter 9 of the Text  -“Fear of the Will of God is one of the strangest beliefs the human mind has ever made.”  In other words Peace is in fact your unconditional reality and you are afraid of it; you are afraid of your Self.  This is a good place to start because within the curriculum of the Course in Miracles you have to somewhere admit that your ‘thoughts’, beliefs, ideas, your familiar bedfellows that are your constant companions and in essence constitute your identity of self, are indeed the obstacle to the knowledge of being. What an affront to this cherished sense of self is the assertion that these thoughts, your well-educated understanding about the world are all fearfully meaningless alternatives to the presence of Christ within you.  The Peace of God is shining in your mind in this single timeless instant we are sharing in a perfect, universal communication or extension. Everything that conflicts with it must therefore be relinquished and undone. That is our only purpose within the fiction of the space-time belief, to bring healing, forgiveness and an instants peace to every mind at one with us by finding it in ourselves. For this high calling the Help we need is given us. And we do indeed give thanks to our Creator and Source for in His Peace we are absolved from guilt and given back to Love.
