WCA November 2016 Newsletter
Giving thanks for our wonderful community
WCA Annual Fund is well underway
We love our members’ support, but we need more than dues. Halloween Trick or Treating and Wilmot Express are just two of the fun, free activities sponsored by the WCA. Add on-going repairs and maintenance at the Red Barn and Timothy Patten Park to see your dollars at work. From gardening workshops to new stain for the deck, it’s all made possible by donations to the Annual Fund. We’re more than half-way to our goal of $10,000! Help us reach the finish line! Thank you in advance for your generous support! [More]
And the winners are…
Once again creativity reigned throughout Wilmot during the WCA’s seventh annual Scarecrow Contest. The winners were selected by an astute panel of judges from the Kearsarge School District and the Wilmot Garden Club. Prizes included gift certificates to CB Coburn’s in New London and The Wilmot Garden Club Plant sale as well as subscriptions to the InterTown Record. [See the winning scarecrows!]
W.O.W. Marketing Workshop
W.O.W. is sponsoring a free Marketing Workshop for Wilmot non-profit organizations on Saturday, November 5 from 9 to 11 a.m. The interactive session will be led by Dana Dakin at the Old Firehouse, 5 Campground Road in Wilmot. Email Lindy for more information and to RSVP.

Good food, good company for seniors
The next senior lunch will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, November 17 at the WCA’s Red Barn. Thursday’s Child – a delicious fundraiser
The WCA will join the Wilmot Learning Place for a Thursday’s Child fund-raising dinner on Thursday, November 17 at the Coach House Restaurant at the New London Inn. This is a fun and easy way to raise funds for the WCA. Call your friends and neighbors and book a table – they fill up fast – so do it today. To make a reservation, call the Inn at 526-2791 or book on line.
Ed for a Day – in concert!
The final show of the Fall Concert Series is Saturday, November 19. Ed for a Day will be playing at the Red Barn at 7 p.m. Ed for a Day likes to describe their music as "industrial folk," mostly because it sounds cool. They play a combination of original songs and covers from a broad range of musical styles, with a general focus on 80s and 90s alternative and grunge. Bring your friends, it promises to be a great evening. [Download or print the poster]
The Red Barn will be closed for renovations Thanksgiving Week

Rachel and Kim - Halloween Queens
Many thanks to Rachel Seamans and Kim Esposito! These two Halloween Queens did a fabulous job decorating the Wilmot post office window in spooktacular fashion. Throughout October, pumpkins, witches and scarecrows greeted patrons coming to collect their mail.
Kudos to the Wilmot Ladies Aid and Co.
The 2016-2017 Senior Lunch kicked off October 20. A big success, participants enjoyed a hearty beef stew and great music. Thank you to Lindy Heim who pulled it all together and her hard working committee.
Thank you Bob McCarthy and Bill Martin

Another fabulous Halloween at the WCA
The joint was jumping on Halloween. The Red Barn welcomed a steady stream of trick or treaters. Many thanks to Rachel and Keith Seamans, they decorated the Red Barn in spooktacular style and then hosted the event.
