ECCO EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JACK LITTLE TO STEP DOWN
AFTER 11 YEARS AT THE HELM
Mount Pleasant, South Carolina (October 31, 2016): After successfully leading East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) in Mount Pleasant for the last 11 years, Executive Director Jack Little has announced that he will be stepping down from his position effective immediately. He will continue to serve ensuring a smooth transition.

Little came to ECCO in 2005. He previously served the Charleston and Chattahoochee Baptist Associations where he created and developed a wide variety of ministries to serve the underserved.

Under his dynamic leadership, ECCO has increased its annual income from $300,000 to more than $1.5 million through the development of strategic donor relationships. Little organized a successful capital campaign providing funding for continued program support, building expansion, and the creation of a disaster relief fund. He was also instrumental in creating and implementing programs to focus on addressing the root causes of poverty in the Lowcountry.

During his tenure, ECCO received numerous recognitions and awards including:
  • “Best Nonprofit” in 2016 by readers of Mount Pleasant Magazine
  • “The Best of the Best” of Nonprofits by readers of Moultrie News 2014, 2015 and 2016
  • Recognized by South Carolina Secretary of State with its annual Angel Award in 2012
  • Awarded both by SCORE’s National and Coastal Chapter’s Most Progressive Business Award in 2009
  • Charleston Magazine and Coastal Community Foundation’s annual “Giving Back Community Spirit” award in 2009
“At this stage of my life,” Little said, “I would like to explore and engage in new opportunities and see if there are other avenues for me to continue to give back to my community.” Author of The Winds of Change, Little was recognized as the top choice for “People to Watch” in the Moultrie News in 2014.

President of ECCO’s Board of Directors, Giff Daughtridge, said “We would like to thank Jack for his tremendous service over the last 11 years. He has built ECCO into a thriving organization and has made a tremendous impact on our community. ECCO is deeply indebted to Jack for his charismatic leadership and tireless efforts in advancing the overall mission of our organization. While he will be deeply missed, we know that we will continue to build upon the solid foundation that he has created.”

Daughtridge continued by saying they will have “big shoes to fill” and will begin their search for a new Executive Director immediately.
