"You can hear 15 years of high intensity interaction bleeding through every note.
This is breathtaking music." –Phil Freeman, The Wire

"This is essential listening for anyone who valued the magisterial possibilities of Ware’s playing and anyone who tracked the work of his wondrous quartet. There are few musicians who could sustain what is essentially one album-length improvisation: Ware was one. There are also few musicians who would know how to channel that abundant energy and process its purpose: Shipp remains one." –Larry Blumenfeld, Blu Notes

October was very good.
It was actually a great October, in the specific sense of having being in the studio listening to and/or working on future releases; this being my absolute favorite (obviously, perhaps) part of running AUM Fidelity/ being a record producer.
As mentioned in my last dispatch, mid-October saw a marathon recording session with William Parker and two versions of his Quartet: alto saxophonist Rob Brown & drummer man Hamid Drake feature on both.  Cooper-Moore's piano graces one quartet (or we could call it, In Order To Survive), while the phenomenal trumpeter Jalalu-Kalvert Nelson rounded out the other.  All marvelous new Parker compositions.  These sessions will see release (likely as a 2CD set) in May/June 2017.  By the way, William Parker is in Europe right now; you should check out his newly revamped website here: http://www.williamparker.net/

And also.. just last week, was at Systems Two Studio again, working with my favorite engineer, Michael Marciano, on the mix for the next David S. Ware Archive Series release.  The total live recordings of the open-form David S. Ware Trio featuring William Parker and drummer Warren Smith.  Truly some next, next level work; will be another 2CD set, also out in May/June 2017.  Can't wait to reveal all!!

Many cheers; may we all forward with compassion and fortitude,
Steven Joerg
