Meet Missy!

This month’s feature cat is Missy! This friendly and affectionate girl will make an excellent companion for someone who wants an interactive and fun cat. If you're looking for a feline friend,  view Missy's adoption profile here.

Foster homes needed!

The number of cats living on the streets in need of rescue is greatly outpacing our foster home capacity, and with cold weather settling in, there are many more cats who need immediate help. You can save a life by opening your home to a cat in need. We also need respite foster homes to take in cats over the holiday season when current foster homes go away on vacation. Peak holiday season is Dec. 17 – Jan. 7. If you can act as a short-term foster home over this time frame, please email us today. More information about fostering is available here.

Visit RCR at PAWS

Come visit Regina Cat Rescue (RCR) at the Personal and Animal Wellness Symposium (PAWS) on Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Westminster United Church (3025 13th Avenue). RCR will be hosting a booth at the trade show portion of the event where you can learn how to help abandoned cats in your neighborhood, how to get involved with RCR, to buy your Fat Cat Cash Raffle tickets or 2017 RCR calendar, and meet adoptable cats! Admission to the trade show is $2. Learn more about the trade show and conference at the Facebook event page.

November's Metro Cat

Thanks to Metro Pet Market for Spaying It Forward! This month, Metro paid for Sheba's spay surgery as part of their on-going mission to foster responsible pet guardianship. Sheba is a shy but sweet kitty who found herself homeless when her owner died suddenly and had no plans for his pets. Now Sheba is spayed and ready for her forever home. View her adoption profile here and for more info about Metro Pet Market, please visit metropetmarket.ca.

Bingo! RCR is always in need of help working fundraising bingos. Upcoming shifts are on Nov. 9, 13, 26 & 28. Details here.

Forever homes found. A total of 33 cats found their forever homes in October.

Thank you! A HUGE thank you to all of the volunteers who worked the Western Pizza Booths at Rider home games this year. Sixty-nine people stepped up to work 220 shifts earning thousands of dollars to help Regina's abandoned cats and kittens.

Straw needed. We need two bales of straw for our community cat colonies' winter shelters. If you or someone you know can donate bales of straw, please email us.

Goodbye, Pearl. It's with heavy hearts that RCR volunteers said goodbye to long-time community cat Pearl, in late October.

PetSmart adoption event. Volunteers will be on site to help you find the newest member of your family on Nov. 12 from 12 to 4 p.m. at PetSmart South (4835 Gordon Road).

PreZoomably Cats adoption event. Looking to add a feline to your family? Visit volunteers and adoptable cats on Nov. 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at PreZoomably Cats (1180 Winnipeg Street).

RCR at Coronation Park craft sale

Regina Cat Rescue (RCR) will be back at the Coronation Park craft sale again this year! Stop by O’Neill High School (134 Argyle Street) on Nov. 18 from 6 - 9 p.m. or Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. to buy your 2017 RCR Calendar, Kit-tea, cat nip toys, Fat Cat Cash Raffle tickets and much more. You can also place your In Good Taste order in time for the holidays! Admission to the craft sale is $2.
Photo of the Month! This stray cat gave birth to her kittens in a tiny space between two fences. RCR volunteers were able to rescue the newborns and humanely trap their mother so they could be reunited in foster care. The whole family is now happy, healthy and thriving indoors.
