accelerating the growth of robot startups
On the morning of Tuesday November 15th, Mothership Aeronautics will be hosting a maiden flight demo their prototype solar airship. The airship is being developed as a fully autonomous, solar powered platform for aerially permanent applications. For an invitation, please contact Jonathan Nutzati at jon@mothership.aero or sign up with this link: http://eepurl.com/cid6Hj

San Jose Airport 'the gateway to Silicon Valley' just introduced robots. Ironically, they are from Taiwan and not locally sourced. And hot shot autonomous car startup Comma.ai who courted publicity at Tech Crunch Disrupt by complaining that no one else was shipping product... has decided not to ship product either

Meanwhile the building of good robots continues in Silicon Valley. Welcome to new Silicon Valley Robotics members: Hennings Biomedical, Augmented Pixels, AMP Robotics, Mothership Aeronautics and RFIsoft.

  • Hennings Biomedical is a start up Medical Device company working to integrate robotics technology and medical laser systems.  Our first product , the Beauty Bot, is an investigational  laser system for Dermatologists. Our small group of employees have over 50 years experience in the Medical Device Business and are listed as inventors on over 30 issued US patents. We are currently looking for partners with Robotics experience and physicians or research labs to do clinical studies.
  • Augmented Pixels creates a world where drones and robots can see and navigate as humans do.Our unique computer vision algorithms (SLAM) allow drones/robots/mobile/hmd navigate outdoor and in GPS-denied environment with high accuracy (centimeters) using just basic hardware (RGB Camera + IMU). Depth and LiDARs are supported as additional sensors too.Highly precise autonomous navigation dramatically decrease labor costs of robot/drone based services
  • AMP Robotics builds robotic systems for recycling
  • Mothership Aeronautics is in development of its market entry product, the Scout Airship. The Scout is an autonomous solar blimp designed to be the workhorse of the aerial data collection industry and a platform for many other aerial applications requiring a high degree of safety around humans and substantial electrical power. • RFIsoft develops and integrates Industrial Data Management, Data Acquisition and Data Logging and Data Analytics systems with high-quality reporting tools for businesses and operations around the world. These systems can either operate locally or as Cloud based systems, using the latest IoT technologies. Our unique blend of technology and personalized service is a critical component of our client satisfaction. Our attention to service is evident in the people we hire, the systems we develop and the way we interact with our clients.

Join our syndicate on Angel List!  I'm always looking out for more startups that fit our thesis, and investors who want to get in early. We invest in early stage robotics companies, with strong business model and early mover advantage. Robotics, AI and automation is going to impact on all verticals in the future and our syndicate brings together a lot of robotics experience and deal flow.

Our first investment Catalia Health just closed the round with Khosla Ventures.
