Scholastic Book Fair

Thank you for another wonderful Book Fair!

From the moment the crates are delivered, you can sense the excitement from the students. They just can’t wait for the Book Fair to start. Some have a plan and load up their arms with books while others just take time in the corner to read. That’s what it is all about!  A big thank you to our wonderful school community.  We couldn't have done it without the amazing support of the Spiritridge Elementary students, families, community members, and staff. A HUGE thank you to the volunteers who made this event possible, giving their time to ensure that the fair ran smoothly. They set up, worked the registers throughout the day, helped students find books and cleaned up after working long hours.

A sincere thanks to: Veena Jain, Betsy Vo, Felicia Chen, Cat Snyder, Pavithra Thiruvengadam, Amy Lee, Leanne Baldwin, Amy Tsai, Aparna Chintalapudi, Kierstin Swanson, Celeste Christensen, Kelli Lewis, Mousumi Sanyal, Smitha Gururaj, Betty Chempananical, Amy Swanson, Allison George, Sheryl Pinheiro, Sarah Engel, Tamara Pesik, Sarah Pak-Lin, Manisha Taneja, Jennifer Topel, and Silvia Hui. A special thanks to the Spiritridge students that helped with cleanup: Hannah Swanson, Ian Snyder, Jack and Reece Taibl, Henry and Anna Engel, and Charlotte Lewis. You came in ready to help in any way possible and we truly appreciated you all.

THANK YOU!

Spiritridge Panther Pacers

We are off the ground and running! Literally! The running club is open to all Spiritridge students. We meet on Tuesdays during afternoon recess and on Friday mornings before school, 8:10-8:40 am. During these times, students are able to run (or walk) laps around the playground. The students earn prizes for every 5 miles that they run and earn a marathon medal once they run 26.2 miles during the club times. We need adult volunteers to pass out the tracking cards, mark off laps as they are completed, and hand out prizes.

Please visit the
sign-up genius link to see if you can help out.

Notes: Volunteers must have completed a BSD volunteer application. Students running on Friday mornings without a parent present must have turned in a permission form.

Arts and Crafts Fair Coming December 2nd!

Now is a great time to start thinking about holiday crafting and selling your items at the annual Spiritridge Arts & Crafts Fair. Look in the coming weeks for details on reserving your booth and volunteer opportunities. This fair is for students and adults alike and a great opportunity not only to support the artists in our school and community, but also for shoppers looking to buy that special gift before the holidays. More information to come!

Teacher and Staff Luncheon

Hello 3rd Grade Families!

Our grade is in charge of the Teacher and Staff Appreciation Luncheon for the month of November. The luncheon for the teachers and staff will be on Monday, November 21, with food being ready to eat by 10:45am. Given the weather and the season, a baked potato bar will be provided to give some comfort to our amazing teachers and staff. Of course, it won't be a successful event without the support and help of our awesome 3rd grade families! Please sign up to volunteer and/or contribute an item for this luncheon through the Sign Up Genius below. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

Please contact academicchallenge@spiritridge.org with any questions.
