BLESSINGS FOR WOMENSPACE
It is the Season to be Grateful for our Many Blessings

Our home in Sandgate transformed this year thanks to a dedicated effort to make improvements to our building and the gardens.

The Garden Group has made the outside space a haven for reflection and appreciation of nature.

Immediate Past Chairperson, Bev Miles, worked tirelessly to get the upgrade of downstairs areas organised, much of which has been done. Bev has drawn up the list of remaining jobs to complete the transformation.

Renovations so far have been possible through donations from very generous benefactors. There is still some funding needed for building work to set up our ideal for Womenspace.

You can help! We are launching an appeal to all our members to match the generosity of our anonymous donors with a contribution of a few dollars each to the Building Fund.

Your contribution of $10 or more will be acknowledged by having a “seed” added to the new labyrinth being created over the next few months. This installation will be attached to a wall in the downstairs space, similar to the existing ‘Seed Pod Spiral’. This new installation celebrates the connection of spirit with our world and will develop as contributions are received from members.

Please add your blessing to Womenspace in the spirit of gratitude by donating and adding your creative spark to our vision of a glorious scared space.

IT'S IN THE BAG
Share the Dignity

The "It's in the Bag" Christmas campaign idea came to 'Share the Dignity', when they realised those women who put the needs of others before their own, don't always feel special at Christmas. Share the Dignity want to make women feel special. And so the campaign began!

Womenspace encourage women to donate a handbag they no longer use, fill it with items that would make a woman feel special and even pop a thoughtful note into the bag to show her that someone cares and that she matters.

Young girls aged 14 to 18 years, spending Xmas in child protection, are so often overlooked in the children's toys Christmas drives. Please if you think your bag could help one of the thousands of young girls spending this Christmas in care, please tie a yellow ribbon on it so 'Share the Dignity' can get it to her 💕

NEW MOON DRUMMING CIRCLE

Saturday 28 January, 7pm

Explore your inner rhythm on the New Moon in January, with an night of free-form drumming, meeting at WOMENSPACE.

The New Moon has long been a time of setting intentions for the coming month; of welcoming in the new we have become, due to the shedding that occurs during the Full Moon.

The rhythm of the Drum alters our brainwaves, helps to clear stagnant energy from the body and also takes us out of our heads and all our thinking, back into alignment with the heartbeat of Mother Earth. One of the oldest instruments on the planet, the drum assists us to re-centre ourselves, journey inward and consciously connect with Source.

These circles drum on the waterfront, first meeting at Womenspace on Second Avenue to register and returning on conclusion of drumming, for tea with friends.

If you have a drum, please bring it. Heed the call of your creative self, by the waters of Bramble Bay, under a new moon in Sandgate.

Three light-filled rooms and a workshop space are available in our beautiful colonial style building in Sandgate, with high ceilings, a foyer, a social meeting area with kitchen and bathroom facilities and well-tended gardens.

BUILDING FUND DONATIONS

We have had a substantial donation from a member of many years, to the Building Fund in November! Wendy Robertson has shown great confidence in the work of Womenspace, donating $12,000 towards the completion of the property downstairs! The Womenspace Management Committee publicly thank Wendy with the highest of gratitude for this most generous donation.

Additionally last month, Zorica Komac kindly donated $100, an anonymous pensioner has donated $50 and an eight year old has donated $4 of her hard earned savings! It is the ongoing belief from our members and supporters that lifts Womenspace to great strengths - THANK YOU!!
