Christmas Tree Lighting! Join Taylor for Southlake's annual Christmas tree lighting this Saturday, November 19, at 6:00 p.m. There are plenty of other events going on beforehand in the square, so feel free to check them out. Please let Taylor know if you're planning to attend so she knows who to look for and can coordinate a spot to meet before the tree lights up.

Playground equipment removal. There will be a workday this Saturday at 9:00 a.m. to remove some of our playground equipment in preparation for upcoming construction. Please come if you can help, bringing power tools, shovels and gloves.

Christmas poinsettias. You can buy a Christmas poinsettia to help decorate the chancel area this Advent/Christmas season. The cost is $8/plant—please pay by placing a check in the offering plate marked “Poinsettias.” Sign up this Sunday. You can dedicate your plant in honor or memory of a loved one.

Christmas worship assistants. There are sign up sheets at church for worship assistants at the Christmas Eve (5:00 and 7:00 p.m.) and Christmas Day (10:30 a.m.) services. Please sign up if you can assist.

Women's Christmas brunch. All ladies are invited to a Christmas brunch on Saturday, December 10, at 10:00 a.m. Please bring a dish to share. Secret Sisters will be revealed at the brunch with an opportunity to bless her with one final gift. You can sign up to participate as a Secret Sister in 2017, too. If you are not currently a Secret Sister, please bring a gift to exchange. We are also looking for volunteers to decorate and host tables. Church of the Damascus Road. We are collecting Christmas cards and money for socks for the Church of the Damascus Road prison ministry this month. Pastor Dan Lund provides cards to the men to send to their families—please place boxes of cards on the Outreach table. There is a jar on table, too, for money to buy socks to include in a Christmas bag for each prisoner.

Frontier Girls. April Humen and Briana Massey are teaming up to lead a troop of Frontier Girls. This is a group for girls of all ages to learn and develop leadership, teamwork, character, community service and other qualities. Parties! Alissa and Dewey Peters will be hosting a Christmas party for the 20-30s young adults at their home on Sunday evening, December 11, from 5:30-8:30. Please bring a holiday treat to share—drinks and appetizers will be provided. Contact Alissa for directions. ■ Kim Riley is hosting a Christmas ornament exchange for the ladies of the church at her home on Thursday, December 15. The festivities begin at 7:00 p.m. ■ Jane and Tony Seris are hosting a Christmas party for the adults of our congregation at their home on Saturday evening, December 17, 6:30-10:00. Please bring an appetizer or dessert and your preferred beverage—non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. There will be a gift exchange, too. Sign up at church beginning November 27.
