No consistent negative impact on house prices from wind farms
The most comprehensive study to date shows that there is no consistent negative impact on house prices in Scotland from being near a wind farm. This contrasts with an earlier study on house prices in England.
The study includes data for the whole of mainland Scotland for the time period 1990-2014, and looks at the impact of both single turbines and whole wind farms. It improves on an earlier methodology used in analysing wind farm impacts on house prices by using more precise ways of calculating the visibility of turbines.
