Sophomore Winternship: Applications Due Tuesday, November 8!

Apply for a week-long project-based externship or a one- to two-day medical shadowing experience over winter break. Programs include shadowing an Ob/Gyn, working on communications for the United States Equestrian Team Foundation, and developing training materials and more in the HR department at the United Way. View the full list of programs and apply by Tuesday at midnight.

DRC Innovator in Residence
Wednesday, November 9, 10:00am | HC Fireside Lounge. Join the Douglass Residential College Innovator in Residence, Julia Buntaine, a neuroscience-based visual artist, director of the SciArt Center of New York, and editor in chief at SciArt Magazine. Breakfast included.

Road to Wall Street Program
Thursday, November 10, 10:00am | HC Fireside Lounge. Kevin Cuskley, Director of Rutgers' Road to Wall Street program, will discuss how to prepare for careers in the financial services industry.

First-Year HC Students: Internship & Research 101 Dinner
Wednesday, November 9, 7:00-8:30pm | Brower Faculty Dining Room
 
Register now to learn about internship and research opportunities and experiences from student leaders around campus. These leaders have interned at organizations such as Ferrari, NASA, WBB Securities, and the Aresty Summer Science Program. Dress is smart casual and dinner will be provided. Space is limited.
HC Serves: Thanksgiving Service Event
Sunday, November 13, 10:00am-2:00pm | Meet in Druskin Lounge


Give back this holiday season by volunteering for the Thanksgiving Packing Event. Join the HC Student Advisory Board and Farmers Against Hunger to pack thousands of pounds of fresh produce, which will be distributed to organizations that bring healthy, delicious Thanksgiving meals to families in need. Transportation to the event venue in Hightstown, NJ will be provided. Registration is limited. Volunteers will receive two HC Serves hours.

Stressed about registration or midterms? Feeling hungry on a Sunday night? Join your Mentors in Residence for a nighttime brunch! Take time to relax with other HC students and decompress in an inclusive community. An academic adviser will be present beforehand to answer any advising-related inquiries.
 

Sophomore Leadership Masterclass with Gary Rodkin,
Fortune 200 Executive and Honors College Donor

Tuesday, November 15, 8:00-9:30pm | Hartstein Seminar Room (E128)

Join distinguished Rutgers alum, Fortune 200 executive, and Honors College donor Gary Rodkin for a masterclass on leadership. Mr. Rodkin has held numerous leadership positions in business, including as CEO of ConAgra Foods, Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo, President of Tropicana, and more. He is currently Vice Chair of Rutgers' Board of Overseers, Fellow of Executive Education at Harvard Business School, and he serves on the boards of Simon Property Group, the largest global REIT, and Feeding America, the national network of foodbanks. The masterclass will be an open dialog focused on preparing students for leadership positions at Rutgers and beyond and examining the challenges and opportunities leaders face through case studies and experiences from Mr. Rodkin's career. Class of 2019 Reunion
Help Fund the First HC Class of 2019 Scholarship for Future Scarlet Knights!

Reunite with your wing at the HC Class of 2019 Reunion and become part of a new tradition to support Rutgers Giving Day. Last year, 127 students gave back to the Honors College. As part of the inaugural class, you can help raise the bar by leaving your legacy and supporting the first ever Honors College Class of 2019 Scholarship for Future Scarlet Knights fund. Donate $2.50 to your class fund in celebration of Rutgers’ 250th birthday while catching up with friends over appetizers and mocktails. RSVP now!

Attend a reflection workshop to delve into your experience through fun and thought provoking activities.

Pot PartyWednesday, November 9, 4:30pm | HC Fireside Lounge. Join Dr. Hartman for a planting party! All potting materials and bulbs will be provided.

› Mentor Meetup Study Group: StatisticsWednesday, November 9, 8:00-11:00pm | HC S124. Join the HC Mentors in Residence for a study party! Bring your books, notes, and anything else you might need to study together with friends. This session will be focused on statistics, but all students are welcome.

Knights' Table General Interest Meeting—Monday, November 14, 8:00pm | HC S124.  Interested in the Knights' Table but not sure what it really means? Intrigued after attending one of our events? Want to discuss controversial topics with experts in the field? Come to our general interest meeting to find out more about our team, our purpose, and how you can get involved. Pizza will be served.

HC Coffeehouse: Sign Up to PerformThursday, November 17, 8:00pm | HC Fireside Lounge. Join us for the HC Coffeehouse, featuring live performances and light refreshments. Our policy for performances? No judgments. Whether you're a virtuoso with years of experience or just trying something new for the first time, we welcome all performers. Sign up to perform.

Meme Art Show!—Submissions due Thursday, November 23. Show off your meme-tastic skills and create memes (any memes!) for the Meme Art Show. Multiple submissions are encouraged for display; however, only one will be entered to win one of three Visa gift cards. Submit your meme(s) and include your name, graduating class, and, if applicable, a title and brief description of your meme(s). For multiple submissions, rank your memes in the order you'd like them to be entered.

Interested in applying to be an RA?  Residence Life is having several information sessions during the month of November so you can learn more about the application process (attending an info session is mandatory in order to apply). Check the website for info session dates, qualifications, and more about the job!

Hult Prize—Rutgers Student Team Competition, Friday, December 9 | Busch Student Center. The Hult Prize Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to launching the world's next wave of social entrepreneurs. It encourages student teams from around the world to solve the planet's biggest challenges with innovative ideas. Winners can launch their ideas with the help of $1 million in seed funding. Register for the Rutgers competition where you will have the opportunity to pitch an idea and advance to regionals, bypassing the normal application process that traditionally consists of 20,000 applicants. This year's challenge is “Refugees—Reawakening Human Potential.” How can your team build scalable and sustainable social enterprises that restore the rights and dignity of 10 million refugees by 2022?
