Welcome

College End of Year Events
The College is greatly looking forward to welcoming parents and friends to our major end of year events which commence next week on Wednesday 16 November with the Senior Years Presentation Evening. These events are as much about providing a rite of passage for our students as a celebration of success and are therefore very important to us.

Rites of passage can be very powerful events that mark important stages in life, particularly transitions. They serve to remind the participants of the key values of the community and therefore help to set life priorities in the right order. We therefore urge all families to support these events through their attendance.  Click here to view a full list of these end of year events.

We have built up a wonderful culture and meaningful traditions at these events over many years – a reminder about expectations for attendance, uniform, seating and etiquette can be viewed by clicking here.

Suncoast Community Garden Launch Party
Calling all green thumbs! We are delighted to invite all families to the launch of an exciting new initiative on Wednesday 23 November at 3:15pm – the Suncoast Community Garden. Come along see the potential and vision of the garden, which will see all classes from Prep to Year 9 involved in garden projects as a way of learning about sustainability, health and well- being and food production.

We are hoping to raise an army of volunteers from our community who can join the garden team, led by the Garden Coordinator, Mrs Christine Jones, secondary teacher, to help establish and grow our community garden. Read More

Queensland’s New Senior Assessment and Tertiary Entrance System – Delayed Introduction
As recently announced by the Government, the timeline for the introduction of Queensland's new senior assessment and tertiary entrance system has been extended by one year. It will commence with Year 11 students in 2019 instead of 2018. The first graduates will finish Year 12 in 2020.

Parents and students should be assured that the College is well informed about the new systems and has a number of teachers involved in trials and preparations for these. More information about the proposed changes and implications can be read on the QCAA website
