You’re invited to the 2016 Grower Market Tour

The Australian Mango Industry is hosting the 2016 Grower Market Tour in Sydney from Friday December 2nd to Monday December 5th inclusive.

The tour now in it’s third year is extremely popular with growers. The three day event covering all aspects of the supply chain, is full of learnings, rich with insights, and provides enormous networking opportunities. It gives growers a deeper appreciation of what it takes to successfully market mangoes and to keep the “wheel of velocity and momentum” turning to the beat of the crop.

The tour provides an opportunity for you to see & hear things you wouldn’t normally be exposed to; to go behind doors you wouldn’t ordinarily walk through and to share in conversations you wouldn’t otherwise have.

You’ll visit the Sydney markets, and meet with wholesalers and exporters, be guided through the distribution centres of major retailers, ‘shop’ for mangoes across the full range of retail formats including ALDI, Coles, Costco, Green Grocers, Harris Farm Markets, IGA, and Woolworths, and experience all the energy and excitement of the Mango Mess-tival.

Mess-tival is the industry’s signature event, held every year on the first Sunday in summer on Australia’s iconic Bondi Beach.

This year we’re celebrating Mess-tival’s 5th birthday and it promises to be a great party! You’ll be amazed as thousands of Aussies flock to Bondi with togs and towels, eagerly anticipating their first ‘official’ taste of summer with deliciously, sweet & juicy Australian Mangoes.

PR

In the press office over the past week, there's been a range of recipes, industry updates and seasonal advice published across print and online. Woolworths Fresh printed an 'in-season' update alongside a recipe for fruit yoghurt pops, whilst Prevention magazine published four delicious-looking mango smoothie recipes! OK Magazine shared a recipe for prawn salad cocktails, That's Life magazine printed a recipe for mango chilli chutney, Women's Health magazine included a recipe for grilled prawns with chilli mango, and Follow the Crumbs magazine shared recipes for 'batida de mango' and mango peanut dip.

In industry, News Corp's Daily Telegraph, Perth Now, NT News, The Advertiser, The Gold Coast Bulletin and The Herald Sun published a piece about NT mango exports to Korea. Meanwhile, the ABC has published an interview with AMIA CEO Robert Gray about mango industry quality standards, which you can read here. "Finally, Body & Soul published one of our very own mango recipes for Grilled Mango with Caramelised Brioche".

A couple of months ago, we sent some promotional hats down to Melbourne's 2Day FM studios in the hopes Hamish & Andy would use the hats as a prize in one of their regular segments, "tell us someone we haven't thought about for awhile". Last Wednesday, they used the hats, giving a great shout out to Australian Mangoes and even mentioned the upcoming mango festival, Mess-tival. You can listen to the Wednesday, 2nd November segment here from 09:00 minutes, we’re mentioned around 13.00 minutes.
