Hi <<First Name>>

Would you like a Mince Pie for One?

Enliven your town's Christmas shopping season this year with performances of Mince Pie for One in cafés and restaurants. This short but sweet play is guaranteed to bring some Christmas cheer to weary shoppers with its seasonal mix of humour and romance.

Following on from the success of HopFestFringe in Faversham this year, the ‘Plays in Unusual Places’ project is the brainchild of Ribs Norman and Jude Sach and has the goal of bringing the Arts out of the theatre and into the public domain.

Mince Pie for One can be performed at several venues across your town on the same day, creating a buzz, drawing people into the town and providing great publicity for your town’s retail centre. Read the synopsis of Mince Pie for One below – it’s an original play developed especially for performance in public spaces.

We would LOVE to bring a little festive cheer to your town this year, so why not get in touch? Call 01795 342007 or email highfive@handofdoom.online.

Yours sincerely

Synopsis: Mince Pie for One

An original short play by Ribs Norman Susan hates Christmas. Already this month, the washing machine has flooded her kitchen, the boiler has given up the ghost and her latest relationship has come to an end. Fran loves Christmas. She loves the food, the smells, the decorations, the atmosphere - everything. Fran and Susan are best friends, taking a breather in a local café.

Tom and Sheila are married. Tom wants the quiet life, so he tends to do what Sheila wants, but this year's present list really takes the biscuit. Surely there are some people they could safely leave off? They are going through the list together, over a coffee.

A power cut brings everyone together, lit by the glow of Tom and Sheila’s matching Christmas jumpers. Can they lift Susan’s spirits? One by one they become aware of the sound of music, coming from the street outside. A man is walking down the hill strumming a ukulele. He stops in front of Susan and – in a strong French accent – sings “All I Want For Christmas Is You”.
