MEET "THE NEW FACE OF STEM"

Engineering undergrads Fernando Mendoza, Miguel Flores, Stephanie Pernett, and Benjamin Flores were part of a select group invited to attend the MESA Leadership Conference. Students competed in an elevator pitch challenge styled after the hit show "The Voice" and connected with industry professionals. Read more.

Electrical Engineering alum Diego Rey, GeneWEAVE Founder and Head of Research, tells us what made his undergrad years at UCSB Engineering the time of his life. Watch the full interview.

"What made UCSB special was the unique experience I had when I came to visit. A family friend whose son was at UCSB and a member of the engineering student group Los Ingenieros personally showed me around. I felt like I could come into a community of friends if I chose UCSB, and that's exactly what happened."
