Pastor Dennis Thomas was born and raised in rural Wisconsin. He met his Savior and Lord in Anchorage, Alaska while serving in the Air Force in 1966. After being discharged, he went to Crown College in Minnesota. Graduating in 1973, and ordained in 1975, he served as pastor of churches in South Dakota and Wisconsin for 37 years in the Christian & Missionary Alliance and Free Methodist Churches. Pastor Thomas has been married to his wife, Alta, for 41 years and has three children and three grandchildren.

The funeral for Russ Pohl will be at Prairie Hills on Saturday, November 12th at 11 am. A luncheon will follow the service.

Prairie Hills is signed up for a Habitat workday on Saturday, November 19 at 1317 N. Dakota Avenue. We’re looking for a group of 6-10 volunteers for the 8:30-11:30 AM shift. The 12-3 PM shift is also open to Prairie Hills that day, for anyone who can only do PM or wishes to work both shifts. If you can participate, please contact Lisa Ross by November 17 at 605-553-0834 or lisa.ross@siouxfallshabitat.org for instructions on how to sign up. Again, no experience is necessary – we’ll be directed by a Habitat construction supervisor, and we’ll be working on a garage and a deck for this homeowner.

Swedona Covenant Church
Everyone is invited to attend a special Thanksgiving service at the Swedona Covenant Church on Tuesday, November 22nd starting at 7:00 pm. It will be a time to thank God for the blessings of life and fellowship followed by a light refreshment.

Financial Peace University
Calling all young adults! We have started a Financial Peace University for college aged men and women. The class meets on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am in the Prayer Room and is completely FREE!

Wednesday nights
The Adult Discipleship Commission has set a goal to support our everyday growth of faith in the church by offering an opportunity for us to gather together and explore daily life challenges. Together, we will identify many of the issues of life that are stumbling blocks in our daily faith journey - family, loss, grief, entertainment, finances, etc. The L.I.F.E. Lessons will be on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30 pm in the Fireside Room.
