The Task Force is Hiring!

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Task Force Coordinator. This position serves as the primary role for capacity building, direction and leadership of the Opioid Task Force of Franklin County and the North Quabbin Region. The Coordinator is responsible for:
  • Overseeing the administration, budget, staff, programs and strategic plan of the Task Force
  • Advocating for a public health approach to policy development and practice with local and state partners and policy makers
  • Communicating, engaging and collaborating with a wide variety of audiences and partners

Tapestry is hiring program managers to oversee two new syringe access programs. One position will be based in North Adams, and the other position will be based in Greenfield/Northampton. 

Under the direction of the Director of HIV Health and Prevention, the Syringe Access Program Manager will be responsible for planning, evaluating and supervising harm reduction services and medical case management of the Syringe Access Programs in Northampton and Greenfield. Primary duties will include: supervising, training and evaluating direct care workers and activities; coordinating all data gathering activities related to grants and contracts; monitoring contract requirements and assuring compliance with all performance standards.

Thanksgiving for the People

The People's Pint in Greenfield is hosting their 4th annual Thanksgiving for the People!
 
Thanksgiving for the People is a traditional turkey dinner for the entire community.  The People's Pint asks that people to pay what they can, with all profits donated to The Food Bank of Western MA and other local charities. 

This is a great event for people who may not have a lot of resources, or who don't have anywhere else to be on Thanksgiving.

Free Trauma Informed Care Training

The Institute for Health and Recovery (IHR) has developed a free online Introduction to Trauma training titled A Comprehensive Introduction to Psychological Trauma for Substance Use Disorder Treatment Professionals.

Description:
This training is designed to support individual and organizational efforts to provide trauma informed care.  While this training was developed specifically for substance use disorder treatment professionals, anyone who wants to know more about the relationship between trauma and substance use disorders may benefit from it. The training is broken down into four separate one-hour modules:
  1. Trauma and the Individual    
  2. Trauma and Relationships      
  3. Supporting Recovery from Trauma  
  4. Secondary Trauma and Self Care
