Thank you!

The butterfly is a perfect image for our agency - change. Our annual service award is appropriately named the Butterfly Award. It is presented at our annual general meeting to a member of staff or a Board Director or a volunteer who has gone beyond her/his responsibilities to add value to our agency. This year's recipient is Phil Morgan, one of our clinicians.  Phil was the driving force in giving the agency a fresh look. Interior painting, provided by a grateful former client, new light fixtures and vent covers reflecting the era in which our house was built and even a fresh look for the front porch were a few of the steps Phil took to create a more welcoming atmosphere. He is still confident we will find a donor who will invest in replacing our flooring. Good work, Phil. Thank you for your energy and your support of our agency.

Joan Allison recently retired from FCC's Board of Directors. She served for six years, most of them as Chair, Human Resources Committee. She was instrumental in writing and editing policies as we experienced accreditation for the first time. Joan has generously agreed to serve as a Community Member on the HR Committee. Thank you for your service and your continued support of the agency!

Bobbye Goldenberg
Executive Director

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the United Way Walk on October 26th!  We raised over $120 for the United Way.

As a “recovering people pleaser”, there’s been a lot of worry over the years about how my decisions will affect others. Sadly, for a long time, I falsely believed that if I invested in myself somehow I was taking from or even hurting others. Does this sound familiar?

A very big Thank you to Sykes and Sons who volunteered their time to paint our agency inside and out to make it look fresh and clean!  We are very happy with the results!

Parenting classes are wrapping up in Ayr.  This is a free six week course for parents of 5-12 year old children. Topics of discussion are communication and how to gain cooperation, teaching your child responsibility and using effective discipline. Understanding and redirecting behaviours and the importance of building courage and self esteem.

"Taming the Dragon", our anxiety program for students under 12 years of age is ongoing.  A connection with Cambridge & North Dumfries Foundation enabled us to connect with Waterloo Region District School Board and, in turn, a number of elementary schools in Cambridge.  We now offer anxiety groups to students in eleven different schools.  Through those connections we are able to help create change in children’s lives and the lives of their family members.
