Important Information on MU Attestation for 2016 - Since our November newsletter, CMS has changed the reporting period for new and returning participants to be any 90 day period during 2016. Again, you must attest by the deadline of February 28, 2017. By successfully attesting and satisfying all other program requirements, you will avoid the payment adjustment in 2018. For more information on Meaningful Use, please visit the CMS website.
CECity Invoices - We are receiving inquiries about the recent invoices that were sent to your office regarding CECity enrollment years 2016 and 2017. Some offices received 2 invoices- this is not in error. Providers that enrolled later in the year for 2016 (October or later) received 2 invoices. The invoice for 2016, payment is expected UPON RECEIPT before your data feed can be started. Payment for 2017 enrollment year invoices for ALL recipients is expected by 12/15/2016. Please see our post for more information here.
HIPAA Security - If your office hasn't updated your Security Assessment this year, connect with your medical association for their recommendations or review suggestions on-line to keep compliant. Keep in mind that for Meaningful Use reporting you must add notes for 2016 of any item(s) you have addressed this year.  For additional help, use the NIST HIPAA Security Toolkit Application, a self-assessment survey intended to help organizations better understand the requirements of the HIPAA Security Rule (HSR), implement those requirements, and assess those implementations in their operational environment.
CMS Announces MACRA Final Rule - CMS announced on October 14th, 2016 that it will offer providers more flexibility to comply with payment reforms called for under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA). A few of the highlights from the announcement include modified reporting requirements for the first year starting January 2017 , expansion of Advanced APM’s and a new quality payment program website which includes tools to help navigate the MIPS reporting options. For more information, please read our extended post here.
MIPS Assistance Program  - Our MIPS Assistance Programs are designed to help our clients transform their practices from one that is currently based on volume, to one that is based on value. STI is here to help you understand and succeed with the  MIPS program by providing a Coaching and Attestation Assistance Program. Learn more about this program and how to enroll here.
ChartMaker Mobile App News - Our ChartMaker Mobile App beta is going very well with positive feedback.  A special thanks to those users who have submitted new feature requests by way of our email surveys. As a result, we've been able to incorporate your feedback into several updates that we've released over the past two months.  In addition, keep in mind that all app users can send feedback and suggestions from within the app itself.   As we prepare to scale up in December, we plan to expand the number of clients using it. In January, we’ll be releasing an update with the new Charge Entry feature so you can enter a charge via the app and see it in Practice Manager in a matter of seconds! To register as a beta user of ChartMaker Mobile App, complete the enrollment form here.
