The Best Investment
My family has been talking a little about financial investments lately, especially with the instability in the world recently and the political uncertainty in our nation. What's a good investment? What is the risk level? Etc. Let me suggest that the best investment is in the kingdom of God. Couldn't the best investment be to "store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal" (Matthew 6:20)?
A friend sent me a devotional recently that said "The Word of God speaks to everyone no matter who they are or what they profess to believe. Scripture cuts to the heart then begs to answer the next question: 'Brothers, what shall we do?'" (Pocket Testament League)
Together let's invest in sharing the Word of God with people in need, in organizations that feed and clothe the hungry, in organizations that give godly counsel to those struggling with addictions and pain, in organizations that spend their time reaching the lost and, in the name and power of Jesus, bring them the truth that sets them free!
Another Thank You!
Thank you to those of you who donated your time to participate in last week's Pack and Pray Fellowship! We had 16 people fill our home and prepare over 1,000 Bibles for delivery this Christmas! Can you feel the excitement of Christmas around the corner yet? Not the hustle and bustle but the opportunity to tell people about the reason for the season?!
Preparing for Christmas
Speaking of excitement, we are ready to start signing up shifts for Operation Care International's annual "Christmas Gift 2016" at the Dallas Convention Center on December 17th from 8am to 3pm. Please contact Leeann and let her know which 2-hour (or more) shift you would like. It's simple a matter of sitting at our Bible table and guiding people to an English or Spanish translation of the Bible as a free gift to them. Truly a moving experience as you watch people pass from spiritual death to eternal life!

OCI--Volunteers needed Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10am-2pm to sort and prepare products for the Christmas Gift 2016 on December 17th (UBO is hoping to provide 2,000 Bibles!). Contact me for the address.
Soup Mobile--Soup Mobile now has their online signup sheet activated for the Celebrate Jesus Christmas Gala at the Omni Hotel (UBO is providing 500 Bibles!) Click here for more info.
