Year 2 children at Thomas Willingale School and Nursery, Loughton, got the opportunity to try the popular sport of curling.
Taking part in 'New Age Curling', they used the curling stones which are on wheels rather than ice.
The sessions were organised by the West Essex School Sport Partnership.
Learning Support Assistant Michelle James said: "The children had so much fun and really got into the spirit of the sport. They soon picked up the technique.
"They all worked together as a team and squealed with delight when their team knocked their opponents' stones out of the target area!"
