In this seminar, participants will learn about the process of buying a home and the steps they should take to obtain their dream of homeownership. Guest Speakers include lenders, realtors, home inspectors, insurance agencies and more. Speakers will be available to not only facilitate the class but also to answer any questions you might have. 
Installing Pervious Pavement that Draws and Keeps Customers to Your Firm
 
Prince George's County Department of the Environment, Prince George's Forestry Board and Port Towns Community Health Partnership is sponsoring a workshop on pervious pavement

Cost is $20 per person
 
Homeowners are looking to find pervious pavement installers-but they can't find any trained installers who can do the work. Your firm can get this business! This training with Dan Bishop of Ernest Maier Block  will provide you with all of the tools that you need and in the afternoon, you will gain actual experience in a hands-on installation of pervious pavement.  Dan is noted for his great teaching style-and making sure that you understand each step.

MD Hispanic Business Conference
On October 3rd Walkiria Pool, CAF's president, attended MD Hispanic Business conference where thousands of Hispanic businesses were empowered with powerful information and resources. Maria Rodriguez at the left and Lt.  Governor Boyd K. Rutherford in the middle.
Attorney General Event in MA

On October 25th CAF in collaboration with one of it's faith-based organization, Iglesia de Dios de la Profecia, conducted an event to the community of Lawrence, MA, where families received information regarding homeowner and renters' rights and responsibilities.
Limited English Proficiency HUD's Webinar
 
On October 27  CAF was selected to present its best practices in reaching people with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) through its faith-based model.
The webinar  featured a number of other speakers from the housing counseling industry.

Meyer Foundation Contribution

CAF appreciates Meyer Foundation for its financial contribution of  $30,000 in grant support to help with the expansion of CAF’s asset building programs throughout the Washington Metro Area.
Past Events

CAF's 3rd Community Transformation and Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration


During this event CAF served over 100 families in areas such as housing, health, food distribution and much more.

CAF was  honored to have Mr. Marvin Tuner, Reginal Director from HUD, Mr. Eric Brown, Director of Community Development Prince George's county; and Kevin R. Craft from MD-GOCI.

In addition CAF partnered in this event with a number of organizations including Global Vision Community Health  Center, Heart to Hand, MAGNET, Cool and Associates, World Financial Group, HUD, DHCD, Maryland’s Governor’s office, Mortgage Mall, WBGR  as well as many other key organizations from the community.
 

Hispanic Heritage Month Closing Event


CAF closed the Hispanic Heritage month with a community event in partnership with the Thomas Johnson Middle School on October 15th.

In this event low-to moderate income families were served in areas such as housing, health screening, food distribution and more.  

On October 26th CAF joined a very experienced panel to share best practices about environmental Health literacy.

2016 Civic Leadership Award from The Prince George's Community Foundation


CAF was honored to be awarded with The Civic Engagement and Leadership recognition at the Prince George’s Community Foundation Event on October 12th. 

CAF Continues Providing Pre-purchase Classes 


On October 28th and 29th CAF facilitated its first time homebuyer seminar in MD and MA where over 30 families combined attended and were able to obtain information and resources for their first home purchase.

As always CAF appreciates the participation of its collaborating housing partners  who always make our seminars so resourceful and meaningful for our clients .
