Image of CathHi readers,
It doesn’t get much more exciting than this in terms of up-and-coming events that you won’t want to miss.

This Saturday is the Australian premier of a short film by CDAH featuring six people with disability, interviewing each other about their lives and the NDIS. Keep reading to find out more and don’t forget to RSVP. Then, after the launch, we warmly welcome you to stay for our Annual General Meeting. This is a really important way for you to show your support of CDAH and the peer support movement in the Hunter. I look forward to meeting you there.

At CDAH, one of the things we know matters most to people with disability and families is finding and keeping the right support worker and being in control of all aspects of that relationship. Back by popular demand, this month’s Planning Café is all about support workers: finding them, engaging them and keeping them! And, support workers, people with disability and family members will all have the chance for some speed dating. Practice your interview questions and learn how to judge who’s right and wrong for you. You never know, you might find your perfect match!

So keep reading and put this Saturday and one of the Planning Café dates in your diary.
Cath.

Our Choice, Our Voice: Talking About the NDIS.
Made by people with intellectual disability for people with intellectual disability.
In this fantastic video, people with disability introduce and interview each other about their lives, the NDIS, peer support and CDAH.
In this film Leigh, Erin, Meredith, Jessica, Belinda and Jacob welcome you into their lives to see that typical, ordinary lives are achievable for all of us.
Hear participants talk firsthand about the NDIS and how it works, and be motivated by their commitment to sharing their experiences to help others.
With special thanks to 3x3 Media and the University of NSW’s Intellectual Disability Behaviour Supports program for inviting us to make this video. It was premiered in the UK in September.
Don’t miss the first Australian screening at CDAH’s AGM this Saturday!
