Tree Set Up This Saturday, November 19 at 10 a.m.  We still need a few folks who can help with some heavy lifting.  We need to bring the tree downstairs and assemble it. We want it ready for decorating during the Hanging of the Greens.

Hanging of the Greens Please join us as we gather our church family together for an old fashioned hanging of the greens this Sunday, November 20. We'll start right after church. Join us for decorating, good conversations, fun, and food. We will have a simple soup lunch for all of the volunteers. Please call Kelley Gutman with any questions at 503-944-9811. Thanks! 

Rebuilding the Beloved Community This Sunday November 20, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. @ the Muslim Educational Trust, Tigard. You are invited to an interfaith call for people of faith to reclaim a place in the public square. Please join us for a potluck supper and sharing of our experience. Bring a non-pork dish to share. This gathering is free and open to the public. www.emoregon.org/emo_events.php

Thanksgiving Pies for Portland Rescue Mission Pie time is here! Bring pies for Portland Rescue Mission’s Thanksgiving dinner to MPC on Tuesday, November 22 from 9-11 a.m. Checks marked for Thanksgiving pies are also welcome. All pies and any money donated will support this community meal for some of our most vulnerable neighbors. Thanks for your help!

Community Thanksgiving Worship Service Tuesday, November 22 at 7 p.m. at Clackamas United Church of Christ. Celebrate this season of gratitude at a community Thanksgiving Service with our neighbors from King of Kings Lutheran, Milwaukie Lutheran, Oak Hills Presbyterian, St. John the Evangelist Episcopal and Clackamas UCC. Dessert social to follow, bring one to share! 

Leaf Raking, Grounds Cleanup, and Pizza Sunday, November 27 from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each year the youth volunteer to join Rusty and Dave as they head up a little grounds cleaning of the church. Come help rake leaves, help out around the church, and eat lots of pizza afterwards. Dress to be outside.

Advent Fest, December 4 Join us for an inter-generational community arts and activity time after worship. Everyone is invited to come participate in some Christmas-themed crafts, and enjoy snacks, music, and holiday fellowship. We're looking for volunteers - If you're interested contact Sabina Shaughnessy or Doug Vitro

SE Portland Youth Collective On December 4, the Southeast Portland Youth Collective will have its first gathering. The youth collective is a chance for high school youth from a variety of local churches and different faiths to come together, have fun, and engage in deep discussions around faith, justice, and the role of youth. We will be meeting at Sunnyside Community House (3520 SE Yamhill St.) at 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Food provided. Contact Doug Vitro for more information.

Advent Walk @ the Grotto, Friday December 9 Meet up with Pastor Katie and other church members at the entrance at 6:30 p.m. to check out the lights and enjoy some outdoor caroling before going inside for the concert by Kevin Lambert and the MHCC choir. Christmas Boxes We are kicking off our Christmas Box season! This Sunday we are hoping to knock out our breakfast food shopping - bring cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix and syrup. If you would like to be alerted via email of weekly sales please sign up in the Narthex. Our dollars stretch farther when we take advantage of sales. 

The Assistance To the Community (ACT) program offers direct support to community members in crisis by helping with gas or groceries in times of need. All change in the offering plate goes toward this fund, or if you'd like to make a special donation, just write "ACT" on your check. Last year your donations helped 26 individuals and families.
