2017 GREETINGS:
The party is over.
It is with dread, trepidation, consternation, knitted brows and a heavy heart that I enter 2017.
I’m not a pundit, just a poet, but I will be joining with writers resist and the resistance movement. If I get arrested, I’ll write a poem.
There’s a big disconnect between my public and private life. The Donald has not yet been inaugurated but havoc is being wreaked.
On a personal level, life is moving along.
Three publishers are interested in “Fear to Shred” (thanks everyone for participating in my campaign!) I’m off to a writing retreat and to teach in Oaxaca. All is well at the homestead.
But life will be different, I’m sure. All I can say is, we need to separate personal and public; find peace in our lives where and when we can, and enjoy each day.
In this historical moment, I’ve never been more grateful that I (I hope you do, too) live in California.
Onward!
