SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL
When snow and ice blankets our streets in St. Peters, you can be assured of having a large fleet of heavy equipment and drivers working snow removal routes round-the-clock for you.
Here are two simple things you can do to help our Snow Removal Team clear your road during a winter storm:
- Park your vehicles on the driveway.
- Move solid waste carts to your driveway.
Doing this allows snow plow drivers to clear snow quickly and place de-icing chemicals evenly.

RECYCLING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
The holidays bring celebrations and many opportunities to recycle. St. Peters’ Blue Bag recycling system, Recycle City and Earth Centre make it easy to recycle, even during the busy holiday season.
This is a time of year when recycling is especially important. We have a tendency to generate more trash, and as the season gets busy we sometimes forget that much of what we throw out this time of year can be recycled.

COMMUNITY RALLIES AROUND MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM
St. Peters utility customers have done their part to make sure the Meals on Wheels Program is able continue to deliver hot meals to homebound seniors in our area. Since the program began in January 2012, utility customers have donated over $56,000 to the Meals on Wheels Program by simply rounding up the amount they pay on their utility bill. The past year alone, donations have amounted to nearly $14,000 for the program.
Recently, St. Peters elected officials partnered with Central County Fire and Rescue to host a Trivia Night that raised over $20,000 for the Meals on Wheels program. (See check presentation photo above.)
“These are seniors who can’t cook for themselves for a number of reasons. That alone makes this service so valuable,” said Mayor Len Pagano. “But, even more than the food, the volunteers may be the only visitor these people see all day to bring a smile and brighten their lives. It truly is a wonderful program.”
