Saving Money at Church
Stewarding Your Gifts for Christ’s Kingdom
Over a year ago, our church took a bold step of faith. We decided to launch Love Europe and send 250 people to share the love of Christ. We put ministry first and trusted God for the Love Europe fund and the church’s General Fund.
When you put the gospel first in your financial plans, God shows up! While we are doing well in our General Fund giving, there is another side to the story that needs to be shared.
We all want to be good financial stewards, whether at home, work or church. Here are some of the ways that the people of our church have carefully tended to our church resources.
Operations
Back in 2013, we had seven people leading our church operations (HR Contractor, Director of Operations, Assistant Director of Ops, Facilities Supervisor, Facilities Administrative Assistant, Pastor of Business, Business Administrative Assistant), for which the salaries and benefits came to $482,627.
Now in 2016, we have five people in those roles (Assistant XP—Ops & Shepherding, HR Coordinator, Facilities Assistant Director, Assistant XP—Ops & Men’s Mentoring Ministry, Assistant XP—Discipleship & Teaching) for which the salaries and benefits come to $274,770.
Not only have we saved $207,857 per year, but we are having people fill interdisciplinary roles...

God in Charge
Love Europe—Kiev, Ukraine III
Proverbs 16:9 states that man plans, but God directs. This is the story of the Kiev 3 missionary trip this past September. This team started with a medical/dental orientation. However, It was impossible to find a dental person to join the team. A nurse dropped out and we could not find another to take her place. Even though a Podiatrist was recruited, this did not happen. I felt discouraged that we were not able to add to the team.
The team ended up being a medical/therapy team. The number of people and the persons involved were perfect. My pre-trip anxiety was ill founded. God was in charge and knew that the personnel we hand on the team was just right...

Invite your family, friends and neighbors for an evening that will touch your hearts as you are reminded in a very special way why we celebrate during the Christmas season! You are also invited to a cookie reception on the plaza following the program to meet our cast and their families.

Thanksgiving Offering 2016
Enhancing the D-Amp for Ministry
This year, our Thanksgiving Offering will go towards renovating the D-Amp into a fun and inviting environment for the EvFree Kids ministry, as well as other ministries that host groups and events in that space. We’ll add color to the walls, update the technology and furnishings, and make the space more functional, all of which will help further the ministry opportunities we’ll have in that room.
If you would like to give to this special project, simply write “Thanksgiving” in the memo line of your check, type in “Thanksgiving” when giving via text (to 714-699-9994), or select the Thanksgiving Offering fund when giving online.

Facilities Renovation Plan
C202 Special Needs Classroom Extension
Our Special Needs Ministry is touching the lives of many kids, teens and adults. When the Commons opened six years ago, our teens and adults in the Fellowship of Friends class met in C202. Within a year, the numbers maxed out.
That room is now used during the second and third services to provide a safe and nurturing class for some of our friends who have more challenging behaviors and benefit from a smaller, more structured environment. This room gives their parents the opportunity to worship together on Sundays, being assured that their children are safe and learning about Jesus too...
