SUPPORTER SPOTLIGHTS

Stacey Li Collver
In 2003, Stacey Li Collver of Redwood City, CA, was diagnosed with a rare lung disease called Lymphangioleiomyomatosis. To Stacey, an avid rock climber and cyclist, the diagnosis was devastating and would require a lung transplant. Still, she found her way to Breathe California’s annual Bike 4 Breath event and got involved in organizing and supporting Team Second Wind, which she captains to this day.

New “Be the First” PSA contest category asks youth to imagine a tobacco-free generation

For the sixth year, youth filmmakers are invited to submit their short films about environmental health to Breathe California Golden Gate’s Clear the Air Film Fest.  A new category added this year, a PSA contest will ask youth to “Be the first” and, in a minute or less, produce a video that imagines a tobacco-free generation.  With the festival, Breathe California hopes to inspire and empower students to become advocates for change in their own communities. The winning films will be shown on March 4, 2017 at the New People Cinema in San Francisco. The submission deadline for the film festival is January 30, 2017 and the festival is open to all California residents. Submissions can be made online at www.cleartheairfilmfest.org.
