Hi <<First Name>>

1) November 16, Brooklyn Community Representative Group Community Forum:

Thank you to the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, Hon Lily D’Ambrosio MP and Hon Wade Noonan MP, local Member for Williamstown for listening to the concerns of the community at the BCRG Forum, November 16.

There were a number of issues raised and here is some follow up information.

Analysis on dust - EPA Victoria
There was some discussion at the forum on the dust and the impacts from different particle sizes.
EPA has done a study on the dust in the Brooklyn area from November 2010 to October 2011, and published this in two publications…

BCRG Targets

During the BCRG meeting, a participant asked Dan Hunt, Unit Manager Metro (EPA Victoria) whether the EPA had goals for Brooklyn. Dan responded that their goal is that Brooklyn residents will enjoy the same quality air as the rest of Melbourne.

During the first BCRG meeting of this year participants put together some targets for Brooklyn, which will help to reach that goal. The first progress report can be seen here  click here

BCRG Advertising and ongoing publicity and posters
We have produced a promotional poster for BCRG and put a few up in community centres in Yarraville and south of the freeway but it would be great to get them posted in more places. If you would like to put a poster up the document is available on the Brooklynip website.
  • Other ways you can help is to use this text and the links to the website and Facebook in your promotional material/social media.
