Nominations open for the Young Achiever Awards

The RDWA is once again delighted to be involved with the Channel 9 Young Achiever Awards, as category sponsor of the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency Rural Health Award.

The Rural Health Award recognises young South Australians up to 29 years of age in regional and rural areas who are dedicated to those in need of health services.

Many young people in rural SA passionately and selflessly provide support, guidance, encouragement, assistance or professional services within the health sector. They offer friendship, hope, inspiration and medical or voluntary assistance to the aged, infirmed, sick, injured and home bound.

This Award acknowledges the services, efforts, actions and positive input provided by volunteers, carers and health professionals, creating a sense of community spirit, which plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of those who depend on them.

Do you know of anyone in your community? If so, please nominate them for the Rural Health Award category.

Port Lincoln based Optometrist, Tamra Karolewicz, received the 2016 Rural Health Award, recognised for making a difference to eye health on the Eyre Peninsula.

Nominations close Tuesday 24 January 2017. For more information and to nominate visit the Awards Australia website.
