Bob Livingston was elected to be the 11th District Democratic member of the Electoral College. Needless to say, he is very disappointed that he will not go to Raleigh on December 19 to vote for Hillary.

 But he is going to lead our discussion of the Electoral College:

 What is it?
What is it made up of?
Why does it exist?
How does it operate?
Should it exist in the 21st century?
Do you have other questions?  Let’s discuss them.

Two ballot counting meetings will be held this week at the Board of Elections. If you would like to attend either or both as an observer, please let Susie Hartsell know at susiehartsell@outlook.com. You don’t have to go as a group, but rather just attend on your own.

 

Thursday, November 17 at 9:00 am to count the provisional ballots
Friday, November 18 at 11:00 am for the main canvass

There will be a lot of Republicans there, so we do need a decent showing of Democrats. There are about 10,000 provisional ballots statewide to be counted, and they could make a significant difference in the outcome for the very close Governor race between Pat McCrory (R) and Roy Cooper (D).
