„Activity of the week“: die Beliebtesten im Jahr 2016
Auf der NFI-Facebook-Seite haben wir in diesem Jahr wöchentlich eine „activity of the week“ (#NFIactivityoftheweek) aus dem Naturfreunde-Netzwerk vorgestellt. Das sind die drei Aktivitäten mit den meisten Zugriffen:
- Die Naturfreunde Algerien A.T.L.E.D. organisierten einen Müllsammeltag in den Dünen; 320 Plastikflaschen, 810 Dosen, 1.600 Zigarettenpackungen und 1.800 Becher wurden eingesammelt.
- Das Naturfreundehaus Feldberg in Deutschland feierte im Juni sein 90-jähriges Bestehen. Das Haus schreibt Nachhaltigkeit groß: Die Lebensmittel sind regional und bio sowie fair gehandelt, bei der Energie- und Wasserversorgung setzt man auf erneuerbare Energien.
- „Eintauchen in die Eisenzeit“ war das Motto von zwei Workcamps der Naturfreunde Lehrte (Deutschland) im Sommer. Die TeilnehmerInnen konnten im Nakubi (Natur- und Kulturhistorische Bildungsstätte) Grafhorn eine Woche leben wie vor 2.600 Jahren.

Nachhaltige Entwicklung: EU legt Prioritäten fest
Die EU-Kommission hat am 22. November ihre Strategie für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung in Europa und in der Welt vorgestellt. In drei Mitteilungen führt sie aus, wie die Umsetzung der Agenda 2030 der Vereinten Nationen für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung erfolgen soll. Erklärt wird, wie die zehn politischen Prioritäten der Kommission zur UN-Agenda 2030 für nachhaltige Entwicklung beitragen werden. Weiters werden neue Rahmenbedingungen für die Entwicklungszusammenarbeit der EU und ihrer Mitgliedstaaten im Einklang mit der Agenda 2030 vorgeschlagen. Auch die Neuausrichtung der EU-Partnerschaften mit den Ländern Afrikas, des Karibischen Raums und des Pazifischen Ozeans (AKP) ist Thema.

25 Jahre Alpenkonvention
Die Alpenkonvention feierte diesen November ihr 25-jähriges Jubiläum. Das internationale Abkommen zwischen den Alpenländern – Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Österreich, Schweiz und Slowenien – sowie der EU hat eine nachhaltige Entwicklung und den Schutz der Alpen zum Ziel. Im Oktober hat Österreich die Präsidentschaft von Deutschland übernommen. Der österreichische Vorsitz, der zwei Jahre dauern wird, steht unter dem Motto „Schützen und Nützen“.

CETA: Umweltversprechen sind zahnlos
Behauptungen, dass CETA ein „Goldstandard“ für Handelsabkommen ist, von dem die Menschen und die Umwelt profitieren, werden untergraben durch ein zahnloses Umweltkapitel sowie ein Tribunalsystem, das den Interessen der Unternehmen Priorität einräumt – so eine Analyse der NGOs Transport & Environment und Client-Earth. Das Umweltkapitel des kanadischen EU-Abkommens tut nichts, um Klimaschutzmaßnahmen wie den Übergang zu erneuerbaren Energien zu fördern, wie dies im Pariser Klimaabkommen, das sowohl von Kanada als auch von der EU unterzeichnet wurde, gefordert wird.

Gemeinsam aktiv! Freizeitangebote für geflüchtete Menschen gestalten
Gemeinsame Freizeitaktivitäten sind ein wichtiger Ansatz zur Integration von geflüchteten Menschen. Die Naturfreunde Internationale und das Forum Umweltbildung haben Tipps von ExpertInnen und Good-Practice-Beispiele zusammengestellt, die PädagogInnen, Vereinen und engagierten BürgerInnen die Gestaltung von Freizeitangeboten für geflüchtete Menschen erleichtern sollen. Die Broschüre steht als kostenloser Download zur Verfügung.

Am 1. Dezember startet der NFI-Adventkalender auf facebook! Unter dem Motto „Naturefriends: connecting people“ stellen wir jeden Tag Initiativen und Projekte von Naturfreunde-Gruppen weltweit vor, die das soziale Engagement der Naturfreunde zeigen.
E-VOL.Vers – Online-Voluntärprogramm der IYNF
Online-Freiwilligenarbeit ist flexibel, unterstützt sinnvolle Projekte – und man lernt viel Neues. IYNF arbeitet seit zwei Jahren mit Online-Freiwilligen. Aufbauend auf den bislang gewonnenen Erfahrungen entwickelt IYNF nun ein neues Konzept, um jungen VoluntärInnen ein noch besseres Angebot bieten zu können. --->

„Activity of the week“: best of 2016
This year, every Monday we presented an activity run by a Naturefriends group around the world. These are the „activies of the week“ (#NFIactivityoftheweek) with the highest total reach:
- The Naturefriends association in Algeria (A.T.L.E.D) organised a clean-up day in the desert, in a sand dune frequently visited by tourists. Amongst other things, they collected 320 plastic bottles, 810 cans, 1600 cigarette packs and 1800 paper cups ...
- In the Naturefriends House Feldberg (Germany) you can experience utmost sustainability: it offers regional, fair and organic food and uses renewable energies for its electricity and water supply. In June the house celebrated its 90th anniversary.
- Naturefriends Lehrte organised two workcamps in summer in which the participants could help to further develop the Iron-Age house Nakubi Grafhorn and find out more about the Iron Age.

Sustainable Development: EU sets out its priorities
On 22 November, the European Commission was setting out a strategic approach for achieving sustainable development in Europe and around the world. A first Communication on the next steps for a sustainable European future explains how the Commission's 10 political priorities contribute to implementing the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and how the EU will meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the future. A second Communication on a new European Consensus on Development proposes a shared vision and framework for development cooperation for the EU and its Member States, aligned with the 2030 Agenda. A third Communication on a renewed partnership with African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries proposes building blocks for a new, sustainable phase in EU-ACP relations. Read the press release

25 years of Alpine Convention
The Alpine Convention celebrated its 25th anniversary this November. The international agreement between the Alpine countries - Germany, France, Italy, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia - as well as the EU aims at sustainable development and the protection of the Alps. In October, Austria took over the presidency of Germany. The Austrian Presidency, which will take two years, is under the motto "Protect and Benefit".

CETA’s environment promises are a „dead letter“
Claims that CETA is a „gold standard“ of trade deals for the betterment of people and the planet are undermined by a toothless environment chapter that cannot be properly enforced and a tribunal system which will prioritise corporate interests, according to a new analysis by green group Transport & Environment (T&E) and legal NGO ClientEarth. The Canada-EU deal’s environment chapter does nothing to encourage climate mitigation measures, such as transitioning to renewable energy, as called for in the Paris climate agreement which was signed by both Canada and EU.

« Activity of the week » : les actions les plus prisées en 2016
Sur le site facebook de l’IAN nous avons présenté pendant l’année, au rythme hebdomadaire, une « activité de la semaine » ( #NFIactivityoftheweek ). Voilà les trois activités ayant enregistré le plus grand nombre de visites :
- Les Amis de la Nature d‘Algérie A.T.L.E.D. ont organisé une opération de ramassage de déchets dans les dunes ; 320 bouteilles en plastique, 810 canettes, 1 600 paquets de cigarettes et 1 800 gobelets ont été collectés.
- La Maison AN Feldberg en Allemagne a célébré en juin son 90e anniversaire. La Maison est orientée sur la durabilité : les produits alimentaires sont régionaux et bio et issus du commerce équitable, pour l’approvisionnement en énergie et en eau on fait appel aux énergies renouvelables.
- « Immersion dans l’âge de fer » – voilà la devise de deux chantiers des Amis de la Nature de Lehrte (Allemagne) tenus en été. Les participant/e/s ont pu vivre pendant une semaine comme il y a 2 600 ans, au Centre de formation à la nature et à l’histoire (Natur- und Kulturhistorische Bildungsstätte) à Grafhorn.

« Développement durable : l’UE définit ses priorités
Le 22 novembre la Commission européenne a présenté sa stratégie pour le développement durable en Europe et dans le monde. Dans trois Communications elle explique comment doit se faire la mise en œuvre de l’Agenda 2030 des Nations Unies pour le développement durable. Il y est précisé comment les dix priorités politiques de la Commission relatives à l’Agenda 2030 des NU contribueront au développement durable. Est aussi proposé un nouveau cadre pour la coopération au développement de l’UE et de ses États membres, en ligne avec l’Agenda 2030. Une nouvelle orientation des partenariats de l’UE avec les Pays d’Afrique, des Caraïbes et du Pacifique (ACP) est également définie. Communiqué de presse

Célébration des 25 ans de la Convention alpine
En novembre la Convention alpine a fêté son 25e anniversaire. La Convention internationale entre les pays alpins – Autriche, Allemagne, France, Italie, Liechtenstein, Monaco et Slovénie – et l’UE a pour objectif le développement durable et la protection des Alpes. En octobre l’Autriche a pris la relève de l’Allemagne à la Présidence. La Présidence autrichienne est placée sous la devise « Protéger et mettre en valeur ».

CETA : Les promesses en matière d’environnement sont lettre morte
Les affirmations selon lesquelles le CETA serait une référence pour les accords commerciaux dont profiteraient l’homme et l’environnement, sont minées par un chapitre Environnement édenté ainsi que par un système de tribunaux accordant une priorité aux intérêts des entreprises –voilà ce qui résulte d’une analyse des ONG Transport & Environnement et Client-Earth. Le chapitre Environnement de l’accord entre le Canada et l’UE ne fait rien pour promouvoir la protection du climat, par exemple par le passage aux énergies renouvelables, demandé par l’accord de Paris sur le climat, signé par le Canada tout comme par l’UE.

Sous la devise « Naturefriends: connecting people » nous présenterons chaque jour des initiatives et projets de groupements d’Amis de la Nature dans le monde entier, mettant en évidence l’engagement social des Amis de la Nature.
E-VOL.Vers – le programme en ligne de l’IJAN pour volontaires
Le travail volontaire en ligne est flexible, soutient des projets utiles – et il est riche en apprentissages. L’IJAN travaille depuis plus de deux ans avec des volontaires en ligne. Sur la base des expériences acquises jusqu’ici l’IJAN développe actuellement un nouveau concept pour pouvoir présenter à des jeunes volontaires une offre améliorée.
