On Artswalk Night, join 3rd Berkshire District State Representative Tricia Farley-Bouvier at Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. for a holiday celebration in partnership with the Berkshire Community Action Council in support of BCAC’s annual children’s warm clothing drive - The Holiday ELF Warm Clothing Program. A signature program of the agency, this program sponsors more than 2000 children each year. The two part program features “The Giving Tree,” where volunteers assist individuals in selecting children to sponsor, and “Sponsor-a-Child,” which has area businesses, organizations, and their employees, sponsoring children and/or their families. This unfunded program relies on many community volunteers such as student and community groups, scouting troops, and individuals who provide innumerable hours collecting, wrapping and distributing gifts, shopping for clothes, helping community sponsors select names, and soliciting cash donations for support of this program.  The community continues to show its tremendous support for this program as BCAC continues to promote its mission of self-sufficiency for these working families who need to direct their paychecks to rent, food and utilities. The evening will include the opportunity to pick a mitten from the tree which identifies the name of a child in need, music, and local student artwork. Light refreshments will be served.
