Here is your monthly edition of Digital Brew, a newsletter with content strategies and techniques to help you engage with your customers and clients. I trust everyone had a happy Thanksgiving...and you're super-excited for Christmas and Hanukkah. I've got a steaming hot cup of Starbucks Reserve Ethiopia Yiracheffe Cheleletu - an earthy blend I usually save for special occasions.

Organizations have started looking at how they plan to address content strategy in 2017. Gabriel Shaoolian, CEO of Blue Fountain Media, writes in Forbes magazine about how brands are using interactive content to fuel their marketing strategies. Camelback, which produces hands-free hydration devices, developed a hydration calculator that allows users to measure their water intake.

Dark Roast - Tip of the Month
Learning what content on your website is resonating with customers is important to the health of your business. You can discover how customers are interacting with your website with a heat map. A heat map will show you where customers are engaging with your content, what content they are uninterested in and where you might need to make changes.  It can also give you insight on whether your content is too hard to find. Use a heat map app like Crazy Egg that gives you the ability to see in real time what's grabbing customer attention or where you're leaving them cold.

Videos will emerge as the most powerful marketing tool brands can use in 2017. Read how video content will help drive calls to action and amplify the messages brand will try to communicate to their user base.

We love to hear from content creators and the projects they are working. This month it’s New York Times best-selling writer Debbi Mack. Debbie hosts the podcast Crime Café, where she interviews crime fiction, suspense and thriller authors. You can subscribe to Crime Café here:

“On the Sunday after I post the video, I upload the audio to the podcast channels. So the podcast runs every other week, from July until the following March,” Debbi tells SIM.
