Dear fellow Democrats,
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend. Whether we argue with our relatives or burn the turkey or miss dinner due to a flat tire, we are all lucky to have what we have, and have ample reason to give thanks.
Even with the political situation we are in, we are fortunate to be free to fight back, speak up and stand up for freedom and equality. Enjoy the weekend, help those in need if you can, get some rest and keep up the struggle.
Since we are a political club I want to leave you with this 1885 quote from a not often appreciated former President (a Democrat and the only person to serve two non-consecutive terms), Grover Cleveland:
"And let us by no means forget while we give thanks and enjoy the comforts which have crowned our lives that truly grateful hearts are inclined to deeds of charity, and that a kind and thoughtful remembrance of the poor will double the pleasures of our condition and render our praise and thanksgiving more acceptable in the sight of the Lord."
