MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
|
|
As we approach the mid-year point of the school year, a fitting adage comes to mind about raising children: The days are long, but the years are short. Meaning we toil through the day-to-day to provide our children with everything we can: guidance, experiences, lessons, daily meals, clothes, family time, etc. But when you take a moment to pause, you realize how quickly they grow up.
Fully embrace this time! Get as involved as you can so that you'll both have lasting memories of these quality years.
I am so thankful for our supportive community and all of our enthusiastic volunteers. You are Edison PTO...Where EVERYONE belongs and we work together to help our children soar.
Amy Schaum, Edison PTO President

Fall Book Fair: December 1 - 3
By now, you have likely seen the flyers and information online.... THE BOOK FAIR IS COMING!
Join us on December 1st through 3rd, and experience a celebration of reading!
Edison’s Book Fair brings a great selection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. Giving kids the opportunity to choose books will motivate them to read more. During school days students a will visit with their classes. On Saturday, December 3rd, the Book Fair will be open to all students, families and friends. Consider giving the gift of reading this holiday - purchase books for your children, family and friends. You can also gift books to your child's classroom by shopping their teacher's Classroom Wish List.
All money raised from the Book Fair comes back to our school to directly support Edison's school library.
In addition donations will be collected for the All for Books campaign, in which Scholastic Book Fairs will match monetary donations raised with a donation of up to one million books to two non-profit organizations dedicated to helping children, families, and teachers acquire books and educational resources. Children who bring in monetary donations of any amount by December 3rd, will be entered into a drawing for one of three prize baskets.
If you can't make it to the fair, an online shop will also be in operation from Nov. 15th - Dec. 5th.
We will need lots of volunteers to staff the Fair - if you are available, please SIGN UP TO HELP.
If you have questions about the Book Fair, contact Matthew Ballard at superfurrymatt@msn.com or (440) 944-0295.

Holiday Shop - December 3rd
The annual Holiday Shop returns to Edison on Saturday, December 3rd from 10 am to 2 pm.
This is a fun event for kids around the holidays. Many children take pride in picking out their own holiday gifts for loved ones. This event provides them a safe environment to do so with reasonably priced items. For more info about the products available: http://clubschoiceholidayshoppe.com/index.html
Entertainment will be provided by Ms. Scholz and Edison's Fifth Grade students as they will perform a variety of Christmas/Chanukah/Winter songs from 11am to 1pm.
Santa will also be in attendance to talk with the kids, and pose for photos (bring your camera).
If you get hungry - we will have treats available at the Bake Sale.
In addition to the Club's Choice items, adults will also have a chance to do some shopping. We have opened the event this year to local vendors with home-based business to sell their products. Vendors already confirmed include: Tupperware, doTERRA, Scentsy, Keep Collective, LulaRoe, Rodan & Fields, Tastefully Simple, Damsel in Defense , Mary Kay, Avon, Paparazzi, Isagenix, Thirty-One, Origami Owl, Premiere Jewelry, and Younique. We still have a few slots available, so if you are interested in table space, contact Jessica Kunsman, at jkuns0903@gmail.com or 440-339-0868.
Thanks in advance go to our Holiday Shop coordinator Stacy Fink. She cannot do it alone though! We are in need of volunteers to help during the Holiday Shop, so if you are available, please SIGN UP TO HELP.
