There is a new Young Adult Sunday School Class that started on Sunday November, 20.  The class is called Philia, which means brotherly love.  The class is being led by Jon Brooks and Emily Diehl with the help of Tim and Kathy Taylor.  This class will meet each Sunday in Greathouse Room 203.   The focus of this new class is to offer a safe and comfortable place for transitioning young adults where they can build lasting relationships, encourage one another, seek Christ together, and establish a community within the church.  Be in prayer for this group and leaders.

Click on this LINK to see a short THANK YOU from Amanda and Monroe Dunlap, the family of Pastor Matthew Dunlap, who serves as the Branch Community Pastor as one of his roles at NFCN.  If you know someone looking for a church family and feel like they may connect with the Branch Service send them an invite!  If you don’t know what that service is even like, come and check it out sometime for yourself!  Sundays at 11:15am.

We received an update from Dr. Hal and Nancy Cauthron in Oklahoma last week!  Here's part of their email:
I just read your blog in the NFocus for yesterday, Nov 17. It was "spot on" as the Brits often say! Thank you so much for those words of reminder to us... reading the notices about Thanksgiving Breakfast, and the wonderful Christmas concerts and services makes me a bit homesick for NFCN...
Nancy and I are enjoying life and health, and our three grandchildren who live near us. This academic year is my third and final year of transitional retirement. Next May I will fully retire from teaching, and at the same time celebrate 50 years since my graduation from BNC in 1967. That was not intentionally planned. It just worked out that way.  God bless you and sustain you as you lead a congregation that is dear to our hearts.

SATURATED WITH THANKSGIVING...

Karen and I send our most sincere Thanksgiving greetings to each of you who read NFocus. We have been of all people most blessed in recent days.

We have celebrated our 35th class reunion at Trevecca Nazarene University, with some of the greatest people one could ever hope to spend four years of life with.  What memories and fun we shared.  Karen also got to coordinate the 40th Anniversary of Trevecca's Physician Assistant program at Homecoming, the program she works in at TNU.  It was a joyous weekend.

We then were off to Chicagoland where we lived every moment of our week with our daughter Carissa's wedding to the very fullest, six days of lifetime memories our families and some of the best friends anyone could ever ask for.  There were times my eyes welled with tears as I couldn't really express my sense of gratitude to God for all He's given us, and of course the wedding itself was just amazing.

We will celebrate Thanksgiving morning with a few hundred of the finest people one could ever minister with at NFCN's 82nd annual Thanksgiving Breakfast, then convene at our daughter Carrie's home in the Columbia area, with a gathering of special people.  And Friday night we will join my sister Peg and brother Bill's family in Lebanon for a raucous evening.

Sunday morning you will pray over us in Celebration Worship as our Team Kenya 2016 of 9 NFCNers will be departing for brunch and then boarding a plane to head to Amsterdam and Nairobi, Kenya for our long-anticipated mission trip as part of our Kenya Partnership.  The doors God has opened for us these next two weeks are truly astounding.

SO - yes, we are indeed "so blessed" as we sang last Sunday!  I trust you are thanking Him for your blessings today, and recounting them to others.  Let us be truly saturated with Thanksgiving this year!
