Dear  <<First Name>>

Welcome to the December 2016 edition of your BNI Australia Newsletter.

There's no doubt that December is one of the most hectic months of the year,  remember though, it is also one of the best for strengthening old connections, and forming new ones. Take the time to get to know someone new at your next Christmas function - you never know where it might lead.

Before we begin, we are very excited to announce that we now have 6000 BNI Australia members - an incredible achievement and we look forward to even more growth in the new year! Congratulations also to all the regions on a very successful October - the results image is included below in case you missed it on our Facebook Page.

How To Network This Festive Season

December is the perfect time for networking - there are so many events, get-togethers and parties, each with their own unique opportunities to meet people and connect. But despite this, successfully networking at these types of events can be difficult, particularly if you're concerned about being stuck in an awkward conversation.

Networking at Christmas parties - dos and don’ts discusses how to make the most of this months festive events.

Get The Conversation Started - And Keep It Going

Don't be afraid to introduce yourself to someone new - small talk gets the conversation started, then you can move onto something more in-depth once you've established a connection.

As discussed in 7 Conversation Starters for Your Next Event, there are a number of ways you can successfully start a conversation with someone you've just met, and from there, you could create an important business connection.

Be A Better Networker In 2017

We all know how important networking is for a business to succeed, and being a part of BNI is an incredibly effective way to meet people who can help your business grow. The act of networking takes some practice, and it can be overwhelming for some, especially those who are new to it. 12 Techniques to Network Like a Pro in the New Year offers ways you can be a better networker in 2017, and discusses the importance of building and maintaining connections for your business.

Thank you to all BNI members Australia wide for what has been an incredibly successful year. Wishing you all the best for a very Merry Christmas, and here's hoping for an even better 2017!

We are looking forward to sharing your thoughts and ideas on BNI’s social media channels. Email social.media@bni.com.au for a chance to see your comments on our Facebook page or blog.

Until soon, in your next BNI newsletter edition.

Warmest regards,

Frederick Marcoux
