Just this year, we’re proud to have qualified as a woman-owned business with Oregon and the federal government.
Describe an adversity you have overcome, and how you overcame it?
As a woman working in technology through the 1990’s I loved my job. I experienced both tremendous opportunity and discrimination – for example, when I was working for a Fortune 1000 GSA contractor I was identified by the federal government as someone experiencing pay discrimination. Within the company, it was publicized that I was receiving a ‘required’ raise. I chose to move to a small business employer and gradually learned how to take more control of my own destiny. I leveraged experiences to double my earnings that year!
What is the best piece of advice you've received?
From my father: Love your job: work harder, give more and never give up. You won’t be recognized or promoted when you think you should be but you definitely will eventually.
