The P&B Weekly V.15
November 23rd, 2016

Hey <<First Name>>,

If you're traveling for Thanksgiving, be safe. If you've already reached your destination, enjoy the time with family and friends. If you're not traveling, stay safe and enjoy the break (hopefully you get one).

As for Black Friday.........don't lose your damn mind! We ain't trying to see you on tv getting trampled or trampling someone for a microwave. The hospital bill or legal fees will certainly eliminate any sale savings.

Before We Get Into It

ANOTHER ONE! This week, our guest Donna Freedman is offering an exclusive discount on her book, Your Playbook for Tough Times. Visit http://paychecksandbalances.com/yp and use discount code: PAYCHECKS (good through November 30, 2016).

Reminder: The “15 Minute Budget” and three budget strategies you can apply today is available for free on Marcus’ Debt Free or Die Trying website. Click here to check out the free tool.

This Week's Action Items
Donna covers a lot on PB31, including some things to keep in mind when holiday shopping! Be sure to check it out. Here are some action items from this week's episode:

  1. You Need A Budget. Still don’t have a budget? A budget does not equal deprivation! From Donna, “a budget is a tool that makes your money go where it’ll do you the most good.” Start one today!
  2. Start a “Freedom Fund.” Want to vacation or make a big purchase in 2017? Start saving today! Donna recommends we take our goals divided by the number of months necessary to save and put money aside every month versus waiting until the last minute. Start your Freedom Fund today by saving each month for the free-cations you want in 2017.
  3. Create Your Own Actions List. Take action every single day and keep a running list of everything you do. When you feel lost and discouraged, look at your list.
  4. Choose Cards Wisely. In the market for a new credit card? Donna recommends NerdWallet for all your credit card comparisson needs. Reminder: Research before you apply, but don’t apply for everything. We recommend you apply for one and no more than three cards a month until you receive the card you want. Each application will necessitate a “hard” credit check, which will temporarily lower your credit score. Know more, do better. You got this.
