We were glad to have Ruth Kiralfy from the Columbus Ga. Club. She was the first woman to join her club and has 29 years perfect attendance. She was in town visiting her daughter for the holiday, and came to our club to make up her absence.

- Our Speaker today was Lisa Adkins with the Buncombe County Schools Foundation.
- The mission of the Buncombe County Schools Foundation is to establish partnerships with local individuals, businesses, corporations, and other foundations for the purpose of supporting education in the Buncombe County School System.
- They have recently decided to focus on putting The Leader in Me into Buncombe County Elementary Schools. It is based on Steven Covey's 7 Habits and teaches students critical skills such as personal responsibility and getting along with others.
- The fixed cost to start the program in a school is $20,000. BCSF has a goal of giving each school $7500 to get started.
- Our club has given $1,000 to Weaverville Elementary and Koontz Intermediate to support their school's program.
