What's on at MAC


Dear Friend,

Thanks for sharing 2016 with us! We'll be launching our exciting 2017 program in January, starting with the Glenorchy Open. In the meantime, here are some great events to keep you making, singing and picnicking!


Christmas Opening Hours

MAC will be closed from 12 pm Fri 23 Dec 2016 and will reopen 10 am Thurs 12 Jan 2017.

Gates open from 6pm, Stage Program from 7:30pm

Glenorchy City Concert Brass, Big Monkey Theatre Company, Tasmanian Circus Arts, entertainers, school and community choirs and a visit by Santa. BBQ, wood-fire pizza, ice-creams and coffee for sale or bring your own picnic.  

Catch the free Metro shuttle bus from Glenorchy Interchange, and settle in for a lovely evening in the park!

Open to all artists living and/or working in Glenorchy, this exhibition celebrates the creativity of our community.

Join GASP (Glenorchy Art & Sculpture Park) on the Derwent Riverfront to immerse yourself in a luminous journey of international performance art, phosphorescence & experimental music.

It’s not what you might imagine New Years Eve to be. Come with an open mind for the evening and for the year ahead!

The Voice Academy Artist Showcase 

6:30 - 8:30pm Sat 10 Dec
Moonah Arts Centre

The Voice Academy presents an intimate showcase of emerging and professional singers and songwriters in support of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. Doors open at 6.15pm for 6.30pm start.

Tickets $10 plus booking fee.

General Patron Advice: 

Admission to the Centre  is FREE
Individual events are at advertised prices
 
The Moonah Arts Centre (MAC) is located at 23-27 Albert Road, Moonah, Tasmania, a 15 minute drive north from the Hobart CBD, or just 10 minutes from MONA.

Parking: There is FREE 3 hour parking opposite the Centre, next to Harris Scarfe.
 
Bike: Take the Albert Road exit off the Intercity Cycleway. Travel 200m west up Albert Road
 
Bus: Our location in Central Moonah is served by Metro Tasmania’s Turn Up and Go service. Buses travel both ways on Main Road at least every 10 mins between the Hobart CBD and Central Glenorchy (Mon – Fri, 7am to 7pm). On Saturday bus frequency is every 20 minutes
