Hello....and welcome to all of our new subscribers! I hope you will grab a cup of coffee or tea and settle in for a few minutes of inspiration. Take a breath....and...relax.
The focus of Inspiration for your Home this week is....easy....natural....decorating....for your table. I love the casual and elegant style in the images below. And....you may already have some of these decorating goodies in your pantry or garden!
A pear, a folded napkin, and a hand written place card. How easy is that? I really love decorating with fresh fruits and vegetables. You could substitute a small bunch of grapes, a mandarin orange, or a few purple and yellow carrots for the pear.
Or....how about an artichoke? So easy....and sooooo pretty! Photo from homestoriesatoz.com
Vegetable candle holders?
I love this idea....and...it is a fun way to get the family involved in the festivities!
I suggest placing a rubber band around the candle and then slip the beans or asparagus stalks one at a time under the band. The band will hold the veggies in place while you arrange them evenly around the candle. Then hide the rubber band with a beautiful piece of ribbon.
Don't have green beans to spare? Then how about some fresh leaves from your garden? Photo from BHG.com
Now....let's talk potted herbs! Not only do they look beautiful on the table, they smell wonderful as well! Photo from Simply Me Pretty
Oh! How I love this herb table runner. There is a tutorial here if you want to see how it is made. Photo from Country Living
Small details are important and these simple additions to your table setting are magical. Dress up your napkins with a fresh sprig of your favorite herb or wrap them with a handmade rosemary wreath. (top) Photo from sfgate.com (left) Photo from myvegua.com (right) Photo from brightsettings.com
And....I just love the color, shape, and texture of these candle holders filled with nuts and the fresh leaves and ribbons on top of the napkins.
I hope you are inspired to try some of these ideas and I look forward to hearing how you decorate your table with fresh produce from your pantry or garden.

From the Studio...
We had a wonderful time connecting with our community last weekend as part of Open Studios of Clark County. Ben and I gave tours of the studio and shared our work process with visitors of all ages. We want to send a very big THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by and/or sponsored this event! It was wonderful to meet you!
